Does this sound familiar?  


Have you ever wondered where to go when life's challenges become too much? We have designated staff who can help create a personalized plan, so that your concerns are addressed and needs/ goals can be met. This program helps with navigating systems and provides support that is kind, empathetic, consistent and is a revolving door for anyone accessing services.


Access throughout the region in Alix and Bashaw.

Online appointments can be supported by technology services such as computer access and free WiFi. Private office spaces are available.

 All are encouraged to use this resource. Please contact us, to access a food hamper.

  Take a break from mealtime stress. Available to Alix and Area residents. Home-style meals are delivered up to five days a week at lunchtime. Hot and frozen options can be ordered. Meals are delivered Monday to Friday. 


Fees: 

Hot Meal: $10.00/meal

Frozen Meal: $8.00/meal


Gift certificates can be purchased. Please contact us, for more details, monthly menus and to book a delivery.


*All volunteer delivery drivers are screened by the RCMP.

Virtual Mental Health

Alberta Health Services (AHS): AHS offers  mental health therapy and addictions counselling for children, adults and older adults.


Services are offered daily, via virtual sessions. Available Monday - Friday, from  10AM - 12PM and 1PM - 2PM.   


Rapid Access Counselling (RAC): RAC provides you and your family with a supportive, change-focused conversation at the right time. RAC is real help, within the reach of every Albertan.

It is tailored to support caregivers and children with a focus on healthy child development, supporting caregiver capacity, and promoting resilience within the family.

We have private offices and technology support if you need a confidential space, do not have a device or WiFi access (Monday through Thursday). Please contact us to access.

  • Veggies will be pre-packaged into individual portions.  ONE bag per HOUSEHOLD.  
  • Veggies will be available for pick-up beginning on  Tuesday, as of 1PM.  
  • FREE and available to everyone.

We kindly remind that the weekly delivery, courtesy of Pik-N-Pak Produce Ltd.  is a gift to our community and brought to us by volunteers.  Our goal is to meet the high demand and share this with as many community  members as possible.  Many individuals benefit from this program and we are grateful to offer it.

Most classes are offered in-person or online. Learning bursaries are available to help with financial barriers for employment related courses. To learn more, click here.

Who Can Ride?

 

A door to door service, designated to support Healthy Aging in the Bashaw region.

  • Age 50+
  • Live within the areas of Bashaw, Donalda, Alix, Mirror, Mecca Glen, Ferintosh, Edberg, Meeting Creek and everywhere in between
  • Folks who need transportation services to medical and other health related appointments
  • Folks that do not drive, or do not drive in the cities where their appointments may be
  • Folks who are attending short-term appointments
  • Priority for those who do not have other supports, family members or means of transportation available

Set Round Trip Fees:

  • 0-150 km: $30 

(up to 3 hour Driver time allocation)

  • 151-250 km: $60 

(up to 5 hour Driver time allocation)

  • 251-350 km: $80 

(up to 7 hour Driver time allocation)

  • 351-450 km: $100
  • In Bashaw, $10 flat rate

Healthy Aging Alberta and B.D.S.S. will continue to subsidize "set" Driver time allocation costs. 

*Any additional driver hours beyond allocated time are the responsibility of the rider at a cost of $20/hour.*

Each service request is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. 

*Riders must meet screening requirements prior to approval of services.

 Local options are available, for housing. 

The Bethany Group, partnered with the Lacombe Foundation, offers subsidized apartment housing in Alix at the Lakeview Manor and in Mirror at Lamerton Place. The apartments are intended for seniors 65+, but those under 65 can rent based on need and when suites are available.

The Lakeside Condo Estates in Alix are available to rent. For more information contact the Owner, 403-358-1243.
